Trading at community markets in Cliftonville

The Oval Bandstand & Lawns is a well-established community venue in Cliftonville, Margate, hosting a wide range of outdoor events throughout the year. Our markets form part of larger community programmes, live music events and family-friendly days, giving traders exposure to engaged audiences rather than pass-through footfall alone.

Many of our traders also operate at farmers’ markets, street markets and independent community markets across Kent, and value the opportunity to trade in a curated environment with clear management, stewarding and safety procedures in place.

Food traders

Food traders must comply with all relevant food safety regulations, including local authority registration requirements, and are required to read our Health & Safety Guidance for Food Markets before applying. Guidance is also available from the Food Standards Agency.

To ensure a balanced and diverse offer for visitors, we do not accept multiple traders selling the same or very similar products at the same event. This helps support all traders fairly and maintains a high-quality market experience.

Code of Conduct

All market traders, including employees and volunteers, are required to agree to and abide by our Market Trader Code of Conduct, ensuring a safe, welcoming and professional environment for visitors, traders and organisers.
