An iconic piece of 19th Century seaside architecture set in more than 4 acres of landscaped parkland and award-winning gardens, The Oval Bandstand & Lawns provides a magical coastal setting for your celebration, with a collection of venue spaces to use for various elements of your event. From the stunning bandstand amphitheatre for your ceremony and dinner to an impressive marquee on the lawns for your drinks’ reception, The Oval Bandstand & Lawns makes a perfect location for a wedding, ceremony, or celebration of any size and style.

Availability
The Oval Bandstand & Lawns is available to hire for weddings, ceremonies, and celebrations Tuesday to Thursday from 11.00am to 6.00pm and Friday & Saturday from 11.00am to 9.00pm.

Capacity
The Oval Bandstand amphitheatre has toilet provision for a capacity of 500 people.
Cost of venue hire

Full venue hire fees must be paid a minimum of six months before your event takes place.

Catering
Should you require it The Oval Bandstand & Lawns offers a comprehensive catering service for ceremonies. Whatever your theme or budget: the team can assist with dressing the venue, flowers, menus, or a drinks reception.
Any catering or drinks provided at events held at the Oval Bandstand & Lawns must be supplied by the venue.
Dressing the venue
We would encourage you to use our official Bandstand dressing contractor, as they know what is possible and are aware of our rules with regard to fixing to structures, etc. If you do not choose to use our contractor then the Bandstand will be as it is and you will need to organise your own dressing.
Poor weather conditions
The Oval Bandstand & Lawns is an outdoor venue and as such events can be affected by poor weather.
Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate you and your party in your chosen outdoor seating preferences, there will be occasions when – due to poor weather conditions – your preferred arrangement of chairs and tables will not be possible.
Please note in very poor weather conditions it will not be possible to move the event indoors, unless a marquee has been provided on the lawns, or arrangements have been made with another venue.
Cancellations
In the event of the booking being cancelled by the Hirer, the Venue shall retain the following proportion of the hire charges that will have been paid. The Hirer shall have no claim against the Venue for any damage or loss they may sustain, in consequence of such cancellation. You will not be entitled to a refund if you fail to notify the Venue Events Team of the cancellation or fail to attend the event.

All cancellations must be received in writing and accepted by the Venue’s Events Team.
The Venue reserves the right to cancel the ceremony if the venue or any part of it is closed due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
