The Oval Saturday Market

A brand new Saturday market is launching at The Oval Bandstand & Lawns! From Saturday 21st June 2025, you can enjoy a vibrant new weekly market right here on The Oval Lawns, every Saturday from 8:30am to 3:00pm.

A new chapter for a much-loved market

For more than a year, Manston Market was a staple of Thanet weekends – a place to pick up fresh produce, artisan treats, vintage finds, and street food, all while catching up with friendly traders and neighbours. So when the market closed its doors in May 2025, it left a big gap for both traders and regulars.

Now, thanks to a partnership between GRASS Cliftonville CIC and StevensMarkets Ltd, the market has a brand new home – right here on the clifftops overlooking Walpole Bay. Just ten minutes from the old Manston site, The Oval is a stunning coastal venue with plenty of space, facilities, and community spirit to welcome this much-loved market back to life.

The Oval is well connected and easy to reach:

Walking and Cycling: Beautiful clifftop paths surround the site
Bus: Stops on Northdown Road served by The Loop and 8A routes
Train: Margate Train Station is a 25 minute clifftop walk to The Oval
Car: Please use local car parks nearby at The Lido (5 mins), Harold Road (5 mins), and Trinity Square (10 mins)

Please avoid parking in residential streets – use the local car parks to help keep the area safe and accessible for all.
